Also known as Spring Festival or the Lunar New Year, Chinese New Year is the largest Chinese celebration of the year and will be celebrated by over 20% of the global population. Chinese New Year celebrations officially last a week, however there are other festivities – including Little Year on 28th January and the Lantern Festival on 19th February – which extend the festive period to between 4 and 6 weeks.
